Unless identified otherwise in a notice of funding opportunity (NFO), (if you need to locate a NFO of interest see SEARCH FOR A FUNDING OPPORTUNITY), applications must be submitted via Grants.gov.
TIP: Before getting started, make sure you meet the eligibility criteria specified in section C. of the NFO.
PREPARING TO SUBMIT: If the applicant is a new user of Grants.gov, the following one-time steps must be accomplished ahead of submitting an application.

PREPARING AN APPLICATION: It is extremely important to follow the guidance contained in the NFO of interest. Guidance to be aware of includes, but is not limited to:
- Key dates
- If there is required cost-sharing/matching
- Specified formatting requirements
- Established page limits
- Indirect costs and any applicable limitations
- Any appendices to the NFO (e.g., instructions for the completion of the application forms (SF-424 and SF-424A) and Budget Narrative Guidance
